- It is a 1 year program where the student will undergo on job training in industry for a period of 3 months.
- The key difference between the DMLT offered by TLSU and other similar programs will be the teaching pedagogy which will be skill based as it will be based on the vision of “putting India to work”.
- On completion of DMLT program, students will be able to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of body matter such as fluid, tissue, and blood; as well as micro-organism screening, chemical analyses, and cell count using various techniques of Medical Laboratory Technology.
- This program will provide skill oriented training to students and thus provide skilled professionals who will be able to work in a variety of laboratory settings.

Dr. Avani Umatt has a total of 16 years of experience including 12 years of experience in teaching; 16 years of research experience, 1.5 years of industrial and other academic experience. She has published 1 book, 9 research papers in Journals and Conference Proceedings, presented 5 research papers presented at National Conferences and guided 16 M.Sc. Projects. Her specialization is in the field of polymers and field of research includes developing and application of conductive polymers/ composites as well as modifying clay for stabilization of expansive soils with and without bio enzymes.
